SFC BENJAMIN B. WISE

SFC Ben Wise made the ultimate sacrifice on Jan 15, 2012 from injuries sustained 6 days prior in Balkh province, Afghanistan. He was killed on his fourth deployment in service of our country when his unit was attacked. Ben’s death follows that of his brother, Jeremy, who was killed in December 2009 while working with the CIA in Afghanistan. Ben is survived by his wife and their three children.

A native of El Dorado, Arkansas, Sergeant First Class Benjamin B. Wise died 15 January 2012, of wounds sustained from enemy small arms fire while his unit was conducting combat operations in Balkh Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

Wise enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman in November 2000. After completing his Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia, he was assigned to 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

SFC Wise graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course in 2008 and was assigned as a Special Forces Medical Sergeant to 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, where he served until his death.

Never forgotten.
